Essential Race Care

  • Mud & Grit: CX bikes require more frequent drivetrain servicing. Check chain wear regularly; expected chain life is ~4000 km.
  • Brake Bed-in: Before racing, perform 20 gradual stops at 20 km/h, then repeat at 30 km/h to ensure maximum braking power.
  • Tubeless Setup: Very strongly recommended for CX racing to allow lower pressures and prevent pinch flats. Sealant required.
  • Gravel Use: While capable, the RCX II is a race-specific machine without rack or mudguard eyelets.
